- We collect what we need to run your account, your practice and your billing, and nothing for advertising.
- Your account data is stored in Canada. Some of it is processed by service providers in the United States, such as our AI and voice providers, to make the features work.
- Your roleplay and Virtual Sales Manager conversations are private to you, even on a company plan.
- We never sell your personal information, and we don't use your content to train AI models.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at [email protected].
1. Who we are
Top Pursuit is a trade name of Storyline Studio Inc., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We're responsible for the personal information we collect through toppursuit.ca and the Top Pursuit app at app.toppursuit.ca. We handle it in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act and other privacy laws that apply. Our privacy officer is named at the end of this policy.
This policy covers the website and the app. Consulting engagements are covered by their own agreement as well.
2. What we collect
| Information | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), two-factor settings | You |
| Selling profile | Industry, role, who you sell to, typical deal size and cycle, where your opportunities come from, competitors, what you sell, and your territory and accounts notes | You, or your company's profile on Team Pursuit |
| Practice content | What you type or say in roleplays, transcripts you paste in for scoring, and practice buyers written from your profile | You, and the AI features |
| Company account | Company name and profile, who is a member and their role, seats | Your company admins |
| Billing | Plan, trial and subscription status, invoices, billing address, card brand and last four digits | You, through Stripe. We never see or store your full card or bank account number. |
| Usage | How much you use AI features (counts and voice minutes per feature), when voice calls start and end, training progress | The app |
| Support | Emails and messages you send us, and notes our staff make about your account | You, and our staff |
| Technical | IP address, browser type, and sign-in and security logs | Your browser and our hosting provider |
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't enter, sensitive information such as health details or government ID numbers.
3. Your practice and conversations
- Roleplay and call scoring. What you type, say or paste is sent to our AI and voice providers so they can play the buyer and score the conversation. We don't keep the text of your text roleplays or the transcripts you paste in for scoring in our database once you have your result.
- Voice roleplay. Voice calls run through ElevenLabs, which processes your voice to turn it into text and back, and keeps a record of each call for us. We use that record to count your voice minutes accurately.
- Virtual Sales Manager. When it launches, it will remember your past conversations so it can coach you over time. Before it does, we'll update this policy to say what it remembers, for how long, and how you can delete it.
- Not for training. We don't use your practice content to train AI models, and our AI provider doesn't use it to train its models under its terms with us.
- Real deals. If you talk about real customers, keep names generic where you can, and only share what your employer allows.
4. Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- create and secure your account and sign you in;
- provide training, practice, scoring and coaching tailored to what you sell;
- run company accounts, seats and team reporting;
- charge for paid plans, collect tax and keep accounting records;
- measure usage, such as voice minutes, to apply plan allowances and understand our costs;
- answer support requests and fix problems;
- prevent fraud, abuse and repeat trials, and keep the service secure;
- improve the service, using usage counts and aggregated information;
- meet legal obligations.
We use it only for these purposes, or for others we tell you about and, where required, ask your consent for. By creating an account you consent to these uses. You can withdraw consent by closing your account, though we may then be unable to provide the service.
5. Who processes it for us
We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What it does for us | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in: stores your account, profile, plan and usage records | Canada (Central) |
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website and app, protects them from attacks, and checks sign-up forms for bots | Global network, including Canada and the United States |
| Anthropic | Claude, the AI behind roleplay buyers, scoring and coaching | United States |
| ElevenLabs | Voice roleplay: speech to text, text to speech and call records | United States |
| Stripe | Payments, invoices, sales tax and the billing portal | Canada and the United States |
| Resend | Sends sign-in and account emails | United States |
| Google Workspace | Our email, for support and sales conversations | Canada and the United States |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to a buyer if our business is sold, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
6. Where it's stored
Our main database is in Canada. Some providers listed above process information in the United States or elsewhere. Information processed outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
7. Company accounts
On Team Pursuit, your company's admins and managers can see who is on the team, each person's role, and the company's plan and billing. As team reporting becomes available, they can also see each person's training progress and practice scores. They can't see your roleplay conversations, the transcripts you score, or your Virtual Sales Manager conversations. If you were on your own plan before your company joined, your earlier history stays private to you.
8. Staff access
A small number of Top Pursuit staff can access accounts to provide support and keep the service running. Staff sign-in requires two-factor authentication, and every staff action is recorded in an audit log. Staff can't read your Virtual Sales Manager conversations; if a support issue ever needs them, we'll ask you first.
9. How long we keep it
- Account and profile: while your account is open. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise it within 30 days.
- Billing and tax records: six years after the year they relate to, as Canadian tax law requires.
- Usage records and audit logs: while your account is open, and up to two years after, for security and to resolve disputes.
- Trials: a record that you've had a trial, kept with your account so each person gets one trial.
- Support emails: up to two years after your last message.
- Backups: deleted information can remain in encrypted backups for a short time until they're replaced.
10. Security
We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity: encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to the people and systems that need it, two-factor authentication for staff, database rules that keep each account's data separate, and audit logs. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we'll tell you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (and Alberta's commissioner, where it applies), as the law requires.
11. Cookies and the website
The app uses cookies only to keep you signed in and secure. Our website and app don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics. Cloudflare may set a cookie to protect against attacks and bots. If you email us from the website, we use your email only to reply.
12. Emails we send
We send emails you need to use the service, such as sign-in links, receipts, trial reminders and important notices about your account or these policies. We send news or marketing emails only if you agree to receive them, and every one has a way to unsubscribe, as Canada's anti-spam law requires.
13. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, how we've used it and who we've shared it with, and give you a copy;
- correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information or close your account (we keep what the law requires, such as tax records);
- stop using your information for a purpose, where that's possible.
You can change most profile details yourself in the app. For anything else, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity, and we'll reply within 30 days. There's no charge.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Alberta, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Top Pursuit is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
14. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when we change how we handle personal information, for example when new features launch. We'll post the new version here with its date, and email you about significant changes before they take effect.
